Tim Hepworth
Born and raised in central Alberta, Tim Hepworth grew up in a family where the outdoors wasn’t just a hobby—it was a way of life. As the youngest of nine kids, Tim learned early on how to hold his own, adapt, and find joy in the wild chaos of big family life. From the time he was big enough to ride in a backpack, he was outside—hunting, fishing, hiking, and discovering that the woods felt more like home than anywhere else.
After high school, Tim pursued a diploma in Kinesiology, which led him into the world of CrossFit. He still coaches to this day, helping others grow strong in body and mind. But something was missing—time. Time to be outside, to follow the river, to breathe the mountain air.
So he followed another calling and became a Primary Care Paramedic. The career was a perfect fit—offering both the fulfillment of helping others and the schedule flexibility to chase fish and adventure. That freedom opened the door for guiding, where Tim now brings his love of people and the outdoors together in one unforgettable experience.
Tim has been fly fishing for nearly a decade and is widely known not just for his skills on the water, but also at the vise. He’s the co-host of Thursday Night Live Fly Tying, a wildly popular weekly live-streamed show where he shares patterns, stories, and instruction with an ever-growing community of fly tiers. His precision, creativity, and passion at the vise have made him a go-to source of knowledge and inspiration in the fly tying world.
But more than anything, Tim’s favorite fishing partner is his daughter Wren. If she’s not at school or napping in the boat, she’s usually right there beside him, helping net the next fish.
Tim is deeply committed to conservation and to leaving the outdoors better than he found it. Whether he’s rowing his Hyde Low Pro XL drift boat down the Bow River or guiding you on foot along a high-country creek, Tim brings energy, humor, heart, and a whole lot of fishy knowledge. From tying the flies to netting the catch—he’s here to make your day on the water unforgettable.
“If you’re on the water, there’s no such thing as a bad day.”
