3 Hours - $150 per person - Have you ever thought of getting into fly fishing but weren't sure where to get started? Well maybe a fly fishing lesson is just what you need to wet your appetite. Maybe you've fly fished as a kid and you just want a refresher course to reassure you that you have what it takes to catch fish on the fly rod. What ever it is you're looking for in a lesson, we do that! From beginner to advanced lessons, give us a call and let us set something up for you. In your 2.5 hour lesson we will go over everything you need to know to get started fly fishing. We start with introducing you into the equipment that goes along with fly fishing, and what makes better gear better compartive to cheaper equipment. We will go over flies, and give you a basic course in entomology so you can understand just why the fish eat what they eat and which method of fly fishing to use when fish have chosen their meals. The second half of the course we start with basic casting (all equipment will be supplied or bring your own). Learn about the fly rod and what makes the fly rod cast a virtually weightless fly 90' into the river. Learn a few basics casts, and become comfortable with casting a fly line. Also in the course we will finish off with going over how to read a river. Learn where the fish hang out, and what to look for when walking upon a new river. We will also briefly discuss lake fishing techniques, but more geared toward rivers. Courses generally take place in a large open field and generally we don't tie on flies( but we will show you how). If you want to have this lesson on the water you are more than welcome to book a walk and wade trip where we will start out the first 2 hours with an extensive lesson. If you decide this lesson is for you and at the end you are really excited to fish, we offer $50 off a full day float or full day walk and wade to be used at a later date.
